Welcome to Samana, Dominican Republic! In this episode we arrive and can't believe how beautiful this country is. We start exploring right away. The kids wake up and we do some homeschool, while Steve begins the boat repairs. He starts with the broken autopilot. Steve and I go for a nice long run to the top of the hill that overlooks the marina. We then go to the gym for a nice workout. Steve and Karver go get breakfast together at the Marina. Jason who lives in Samana, gets us set up with some men who begin working on the broken engine. They let us know there is water inside the engine. Alex our new friend asks if Steve and Malia want to take a flight around Samana in his plane. They of course say yes and have a great time! We drive into town to check out the fruit and veggie stand. It is so unique and cool. We stock up on fresh produce. We then go on a hike to the coconut waterfall. We have a nice man named Juan give us a tour on the way to the waterfall. Once we get there the boys climb the rock while Malia and I learn a tik tok dance. We have the best time! When we get home we have some family time seeing who can do the most pushups. That night Karver pukes all down our stairs and into our bilges. We spend quite some time cleaning that up. The next day it's another hike, this time to El Lemon Falls. The hike is pretty rough because it had rained. We dodged mud and horses along the way. The waterfall was beautiful though. Afterwards we did a quick cocoa chocolate tour. We learned about how they make chocolate, it was super interesting. The next day we head to Las terrenas as a family to surf. It was the best day ever! We stayed on the beach and hung out while the boys tore it up on the small waves. Steve shares his thoughts on the Dominican Republic. We love it here!
