ESCAPE THE MAINLAND: FRIENDS & CREW [Adventure #100]

Picking up a new crew member in Puerto Vallarta, we set out with friends to escape the craziness of the city to the island of birds, AKA Isla Isabel, or Mexico’s Galapagos. We have quite the interesting sailing passage, with challenging headwinds, engine trouble, lots of tacking and bashing and of course amazing sunsets at sea. One we arrive, we wait out bad weather hove-to, but manage to hook a big fish. Then, we go meet the scientists on the island who are studying the blue footed boobies and peek at the frigate bird chicks in nests.
