episode 9: snorkeling a sunken plane and cruising through mangroves

We spend a day exploring Norman’s Cay, both underwater and on land. We snorkel an awesome sunken plane that was used for smuggling drugs in the 1980’s, now home to a variety of reef fish and beautiful coral. The next morning we head south to Shroud Cay, a really cool island at the northern end of the Exuma Cays Land and Sea Park. The park is a beautiful 22 mile long protected area made up of 15 large islands and many other small ones. There is no fishing or taking anything from land, not many structures, and no cell towers, which means no phone service or wifi throughout the area. We spend a whole afternoon winding through the mangroves to reach one of the most incredible, picturesque places we’ve ever seen!
