Episode 53 - Delmarva Circumference Leg 4 - From Cape Henlopen to Bohemia River
Join "Moments in Time" for the fourth leg of our odyssey as we depart Cape Henlopen at the mouth of the Delaware Bay and start our journey up the Delaware Bay and into the Delaware River. We battled rain, heavy fog, crab pots, shipping, and non-squawking watermen on our way to and through the Chesapeake and Delaware Canal. We made it through the canal and found refuge in Veazy Code on the Bohemia River after a very long day of motor sailing. "Moments in Time" is back in Maryland. Delmarva stands for Delaware, Maryland, and Virginia and often refers to the eastern peninsula surrounded by the Chesapeake Bay to the west and south, the Atlantic Ocean to the east, and the Chesapeake and Delaware (C&D) canal to the north. Circumnavigating the Delmarva Peninsula is a fun voyage to plan as you have to account for weather, winds, waves, tides, anchorages, various courses, and of course, adventure.
