EP09 Positioning laminated floors and frames, summer recap #3: Building the schooner Malabar IV
The last of three videos that recap work done during the summer building MALABAR IV, this episode shows traditional boatbuilder Ben Harris installing a laminated floor and then fixing a laminated frame to it. Ben explains the rationale for installing laminated floors and frames in certain areas of the hull, where the main and foremasts will be stepped. French volunteer Rémi Guillet returned to help. We said goodbye to intern Sam Loughout.... Ben wants to thank intern Wyatt Bruce, who sadly only briefly appears in this episode, but worked really hard and was a pleasure to have in the workshop. Wyatt came over from IYRS - School of Technology and Trades, Newport, Rhode Island.
