Ep 35 Sailing Reverie Hurricane Elsa Check up - Storm Preparation

Yesterday what was Tropical Storm Elsa became Hurricane Elsa a Category 1 Hurricane with sustained winds of 75 miles per hour. Lucky for us Reverie, as well as our home, is located in a protected area so we were blessed with a lot less rain than forecasted and winds only gusting to 30 knts moving from East to West (Offshore) which was the best case scenario. If you recall part of our storm plan included checking the tide tables to assess the effect of the storm surge in our area and how that would be affected by the tides. Lucky for us things worked as planned. The storm surge came into the bay area at the time when we had low tide.
