Ep 20 | Sailing Chelsea | Sea Rescue Goes Wrong

In this episode we sail across from La Palma, one of the Canary Islands, to Funchal, Madeira, which takes us 2 and a half days in the end. We explore Funchal quite briefly as it is very expensive in the marina and so we decide to sail around to a gorgeous little anchorage. Here we meet up with some friends which turns into a stressful situation... Ryan goes to rescue a windsurfer, then needs rescuing himself, then (once rescued) goes back out to sea and rescues the rescuers, who had themselves got into trouble - scary times! Then we set sail from Madeira to Santo Porto aka paradise! It's a tough sail for us with big winds and waves and some serious listing (leaning for all you non-sailors!) But we really enjoyed the challenge and are feeling more and more confident with our sailing.
