We’re on a mission to reach a pocket of untamed wilderness in the 40-degree latitudes before winter closes in and the gaps between storms disappear. The west coast of Tasmania is one of the last surviving wildernesses on Earth—1.5 million hectares of national park, much of it World Heritage listed, and almost entirely inaccessible by road.
