DSA Dazcat 1500: Build Part 2- Popping the Moulds

86 Visninger· 16/10/25

DSA Dazcat 1500 Build – Part 2 | Popping the Moulds After months of meticulous preparation (see Part 1 of the build series), the big moment has finally arrived: popping the moulds! This stage is one of the most nerve-wracking parts of the build. The team must carefully, and sometimes what appears to be a little brutally, release the moulds from the plugs. It’s the ultimate test of whether all that shaping, filling, fairing, laminating, and finishing has truly paid off. Join the crew at the Multihull Centre in Cornwall as they hold their breath and set the moulds free, revealing the forms that will shape the DSA Dazcat 1500. With Scott Bader’s resins and epoxies at the core of the build, strength and precision are key. This is where months of planning and hard graft finally show their worth. In this episode you’ll see: • The intense process of releasing moulds from plugs • Why this step is both nail-biting and exhilarating • Reactions from the build team as the results are revealed • Another milestone in creating an accessible, high-performance Dazcat The Disabled Sailors Association (DSA) has already given over 50,000 people the chance to experience the freedom of sailing. With the Dazcat 1500, that mission is about to set sail into the future. #DSADazcat1500 #AccessibleSailing #ScottBader #dazcat #boatbuilding #cornwall
