Dodging lightning sailing from Africa to Italy Vlog 47

When we finally set sail from Tunisia on overnight passage to Sicily we went straight into the middle of several unforecast lightning storms! Made for an exciting night! On arrival it was amazing to rediscover the joys of Italian food in the beautiful Egadi islands and also made it back to where we started our journey last year on Nikau - Cagliari in Sardinia. We have a bit of drama with the acceleration failing on our rental car and David gets a particularly unfortunate home haircut but it's all part of the adventure (that's how we roll these days). We are now heading west and stocking up in preparation for the Atlantic crossing soon. We are the Robbins family sailing on our boat named Nikau. We are a family of 5. Our 3 kids are doing NZ correspondence school on board. They are growing to love it! What's not to love about 3 hours of school a day and then a different playground for the afternoon every day! We've traveled from New Zealand to Sardinia in Italy to pick up our boat and we plan over a few seasons to sail her back to New Zealand. We hope you enjoy following us on our adventures!
