Cruising Conversations – Episode 9 Part Three – Steve D’Antonio

This is the third and final video in the Steve D’Antonio Cruising Conversations series. In the first two videos, we introduced our viewers to Steve D’Antonio and learned about his consulting business and his background that led him to this rewarding career. This next video covers how Steve teaches his clients to understand their boat and his favorite aspect of his consulting - going out cruising with clients. Both Jeff and Steve make it a point to go out cruising with clients and learn what works best for them out on the water and how they can better understand their boat and systems. There is no better teacher than experience when it comes to cruising. Some of Steve’s favorite client passages are at high latitude. This environment is ideal for testing out a trawler as weather conditions are constantly changing, and the views and scenery along the way make for a beautiful ride. In this type of faraway cruising, the crew aboard can test themselves and the systems aboard to find out which ones need work or practice and which are functioning as normal. This cruising also instills confidence in the future cruisers as they are relying on themselves to learn the boat inside and out.
