Crossing to Canada & Yarmouth, Nova Scotia / MV Havaseas Nordhavn 50

We are Eric, Kimberley, and Distin. We are from Alaska. We started our adventures in Alaska on our Nordhavn 55. We sold her and are now beginning our adventures on a new to us Summer Adventures Continue: Hello, Nova Scotia! 🇨🇦⚓ We’ve crossed a major milestone—literally! After soaking up the magic of Maine, we pointed the bow east and made the exciting crossing over the legendary Bay of Fundy, officially saying goodbye to the U.S. for now and hello to beautiful Yarmouth, Nova Scotia. The journey across the Bay wasn’t without drama. Somewhere in the middle of that deep, swirling water, we swear we were thumped by a sea monster (or maybe it was just a very big, hard, Sun fish… hard to say). Either way, it was a loud experience with lots of confusion. We also took the time during the crossing to test out Starlink’s ocean service—we’re happy to report it held strong, even mid-monster attack! Arriving in Yarmouth, we immediately got to work. After days at sea, the boat needed some TLC—a full interior and exterior wash, plus a round of laundry that may have qualified as a small mountain. Even the dog got a much-needed scrub, and we finally cleaned ourselves up too (the sea spray chic was starting to wear thin 😅). Once the chores were checked off, we stocked up with fresh provisions, explored the charming town of Yarmouth, and treated ourselves to a couple of excellent dinners out—fresh seafood and warm hospitality made us feel right at home. We’re absolutely loving our time in Canada so far—the landscapes, the people, and the laid-back pace of life. This next chapter of our journey is already off to an unforgettable start.
