Close Encounters At Sea - Ep. 79 RAN Sailing

Our time had run out in the marina in Santa Marta but the light southerly winds didn’t sound good for sailing to Panama. So instead we decided to sail to Cartagena and wait for a better forecast. The passage was quite eventful with sailing across the outlet of the big Magdalena river, lots of debris in the water and passing over an underwater wall in the dark. We are a Swedish couple who wanted a different kind of life. So we moved aboard our sailboat RAN, a custom built aluminium Beason 40, untied the lines in the middle of the Swedish winter and started to sail south along the coast of Europe.
