Big fish, beach BBQ's in beautiful French Tahiti, vlog 72

The Marquesas Islands group is just incredible! The fish are huge and taking them to the beach to share for a BBQ is the best. We are in one of the most remote islands in the world, lying about 852 mi (1,370 km) northeast of Tahiti and about 3,000 mi (4,800 km) away from the west coast of Mexico, the nearest continental land mass. Unlike the majority of French Polynesian islands, the Marquesas are not surrounded by protective fringing reefs. These volcanic mountains rise straight out of the depths and are just plain stunning! It's so fun having friends with us and we hope you enjoy watching us explore Tahiti. Nikau. We are a family of 5. Our 3 kids are doing NZ correspondence school on board. They are growing to love it! What's not to love about 3 hours of school a day and then a different playground for the afternoon every day! We've traveled from New Zealand to Sardinia in Italy to pick up our boat and we plan over a few seasons to sail her back to New Zealand. We hope you enjoy following us on our adventures!
