A Serious Explorer Built for Real Owners: Inside Hull #1 of the Numarine 27XP
Step aboard Hull No. 1 of the all-new Numarine 27XP at the 2026 Cannes Yachting Festival, where Numarine’s newest explorer yacht made its world boat-show premiere. At just under 27 meters (approximately 88 feet), the Numarine 27XP packs an extraordinary amount of yacht into a relatively compact footprint. With approximately 150 GT of interior volume, four- or five-cabin layouts, a massive flybridge, full-displacement hull, long-range cruising capability and Numarine’s latest Super Silent energy system, the 27XP is designed to deliver many of the advantages of a much larger explorer yacht without moving into the complexity of a significantly larger vessel. For this YachtLens walkthrough, Ali Tanır, Head of Americas for Numarine, takes us through Hull No. 1 and explains not only what changed from the successful Numarine 26XP, but why. Much of the 27XP’s development came directly from owner feedback. Numarine increased the beam, enlarged the galley, reconsidered the accommodation layout and introduced the option for a true main-deck VIP cabin in the five-cabin configuration. Selecting that layout moves the primary wheelhouse to an enclosed flybridge configuration, giving owners considerable flexibility in how the yacht is arranged. We also take a detailed look at the systems behind the yacht, including the engine room, machinery access, fuel arrangement, diagnostics and the Mk2 Super Silent Pack, which incorporates a substantial lithium battery bank and solar generation to reduce generator use while at anchor. Published Numarine 27XP specifications include: • Length Overall:** 26.97 m / 88.48 ft • Beam:** 6.90 m / 22.64 ft • Gross Tonnage: Approximately 150 GT • Full-Load Displacement:** approximately 92 tonnes • Guest Cabins:** 4 or 5 • Guests:** 8 or 10 • **Crew:** up to 4 • Standard Engines:** Twin MAN D2676 LE438, 560 hp each • Maximum Speed:** approximately 13.5 knots • Economical Speed:** 8 knots • Published Maximum Range:** approximately 2,200 nautical miles at 8 knots • Fuel Capacity:** approximately 11,000 liters / 2,906 U.S. gallons • Construction:** GRP composite • Classification:** CE Category A One of the most interesting aspects of the 27XP is that its **load-line length remains under 24 meters**, allowing Numarine to position the yacht as an option for owners seeking greater operational flexibility at this size. This is not simply a shortened superyacht walkthrough. Ali gives us considerable insight into the **design philosophy, owner feedback, manufacturing process, serviceability and cruising considerations** that shaped the transition from the 26XP to the new 27XP.
