93 - Passage to Krakatoa and Sumatra

In this episode Saoirse has left Belitung and we unsuccessfully dodge some stormy weather on our way down to the volcano Krakatoa in Indonesia's Sunda Strait. Along the way while sailing at night with the centreboards down, we encounter an unlit fishing apparatus that breaks the shear pins on the centreboards causing them to retract, as designed to prevent damage. Initial attempts to replace the shear pins were unsuccessful...keep following to find the fix. While parked at Krakatoa we did a little day hike at the volcano, getting some sweet views. Jeannine is surprised by a large fish that knocked itself out trying to jump into the boat. And we eventually land at Sumatra's west coast harbour of Bengkulu. Thanks for following!
