75: MASS WEDDING ON OUR BEACH - 30 couples marry in a post-COVID splurge

I was SO lucky to walk past this massive event this morning on my way back to our flat. I couldn't believe how friendly everyone was and truly excited to see me. The media immediately started pairing me together with the wedding couples. After a few minutes, I was able to learn about the event and its purpose which are both really interesting. The fact that Qingdao was hosting a wedding with many people in close proximity says that the fear of Covid-19 is pretty much dissipated. Also, I would guess about less than half of the people attending, and the couples did not wear masks. Another really interesting surprise was how the wedding culture heavily favored Western tradition. The girls were in traditional dresses and carried bouquets. I have yet to see that in Qingdao. It's funny though...most of the girls wore black shoes! The ceremony had most of the components of traditional western weddings and you will see that in the video. At one point, I was identified by a security guard and he would not allow me to stay inside the ropes....even though the wedding was almost over. He was showing me who was boss! Ironically, the girl who ran the whole event had invited me!
