We install our new Battleborn LifePo4 batteries for our electric sailboat build in this vlog. We also make progress on the battery box and galley refit. Our end goal for this boat is to be completely off the grid. Sure, going completely electric will be better for the environment, and that's a plus, but that's not the biggest reason we're doing this. We're doing this because we love simplicity, and an electric motor is the simplest and purest form of auxiliary propulsion for a sailboat in our minds. Getting rid of the need to fill diesel jerry cans, the need to constantly service and maintain the engine, and the need to constantly search for more propane for your stove, is the real reason. I'm not going to sit here and tell you that electric is better for everyone, because it's certainly not. But for us, going electric was a no-brainer. More information about our electric sailboat build coming shortly. We're not afraid to jump into anything, put in the work, and learn as we go. For this reason our channel is very DIY focused, with the goal to show anyone watching that a lot is possible if you're not afraid to make some mistakes along the way.
