146 - Cruising Prep in Genova, Italy

In this episode Saoirse is stuck in Genova for almost a month, while we ensure the mast is structurally sound following the impact damage from the cargo ship. Boat projects include: - Replacing the icemaker and drink fridge..their location by the stern exposes them to damaging salt water - Replacing the starter batteries. After 3 years they are not cranking like they should - Continuing our Starlink installation, with the mounting of the dish on the flybridge roof - Polishing away some oily slime that coated the yacht while in transit - Ultrasonic inspection of the mast - Replacement of the Echopilot forward-facing transducer in the hull, also damage during shipping - Addressing problems with the black water tank level sensors....grinding the problem away - Receiving and installing the new (warranty replacement) jib sail - Receiving and hoisting the new (warranty replacement) mainsail. Sadly it needs some adjustment. We also do a bit of Genova area touring, including hiking the Sentiero della Mura, visiting the city, and the maritime museum. Thanks for following!
