Free-diving has quickly become part of everyday life aboard SV ELANE, and every dive reveals something unexpected. In this episode, we encounter fascinating marine life, swim alongside schools of curious fish, and even enjoy some knee-boarding behind the dinghy. But just as we're ready to leave our secluded anchorage, we discover our anchor has become hopelessly stuck on the seabed. With departure depending on it, Aksel takes on his biggest free-diving challenge yet. How deep will he have to dive to free the anchor and get us underway again? After provisioning in Santiago, we motor to one last quiet anchorage for a final day of underwater adventures before setting sail for El Hierro—the Canary Islands' wildest and most southwesterly island. As the sun sets, the boys help Eivind winch the dinghy aboard in preparation for the 10-hour offshore passage ahead. Throughout this sailing journey, learning by doing has been one of our greatest adventures, and every destination teaches us something new.
