Dia 3 : Puerto de Vueltas, Valle Gran Rey (La Gomera) - Puerto La Restinga (El Hierro) La V REGATA DE LOS PUERTOS CANARIOS se ha desarrollado entre los días 10 y 15 de Mayo de 2.021 . El evento ha unido las islas de Tenerife, La Gomera y el Hierro, quedando pendiente la llegada a la isla de La Palma debido a la cancelación de la última etapa de la regata por las condiciones meteorológicas adversas de fuertes vientos de más de 35 nudos y olas. Han participado un total de 20 embarcaciones a vela con 152 tripulantes procedentes de todas las Islas Canarias, respaldados por la organización y equipo de apoyo compuesta por 4 jueces de regata, barco de apoyo y equipo de prensa y fotógrafos. As regatas devem reunir mais de 100 barcos de classes como ORC, RGS, Bico de Proa, Clássicos, C30 e HPE25. Para retomada das provas, os organizadores adotarão medidas restritivas e consultaram dirigentes de outras competições pelo mundo, não apenas de vela oceânica. Todas as atividades relacionadas à Semana Internacional de Vela de Ilhabela atenderão aos protocolos de segurança oficiais relacionados à COVID-19. Uma das novidades para 2021 é a exigência de teste de PCR com 72 horas de antecedência para o credenciamento, que será feito nos dias 24 e 25 de julho. Work never stops. In this episode, I decide to replace a broken aft bilge pump. This is a safety factor - if water is pouring in for some reason, you need functioning pumps to at least keep you afloat long enough to get to shore, or get a tow. Being under the aft cabin dresser, I spent a lot of time with my head down in the depths! Next, and at random, I decided to repair the hot water tank. It had a slight drip, the wood underneath was wet, and I was afraid that the wood would get saturated and start getting punky. After a few trips to various stores to get a replacement, I got lucky at a nearby marina and found a newer replacement. About an hour later and it was all done. And no leaks! Finally, I put a waterproof case on my Akaso camera and took the plunge, as it were. Into the river to see what I could see, and to see if there was any leakage (there wasn't!). This will be fun in upcoming videos. And Chloe made a friend!! Bella is a cockapoo being looked after by friends of our, and they came by for a quick visit. The dogs did the inevitable butt-sniffing, then started to play. It was fun to watch! A work of caution - the weather is hot and muggy and it's critical to keep your pets hydrated and out of the sun as much as possible!

This is the inaugural episode of a new podcast called Sailing the East. The hosts for the show are Bela Musits, who has many years of sailing experience, and Mike Wasserman who knows almost nothing about sailing. Not only that, Mike is actually located in Germany, not near any water that you could sail anything more than a Sunfish on. But, Mike is interested in learning more about sailing. So, here we go! But why this podcast? Bela and Mike met when they were both business professors at Clarkson University, in Potsdam NY. Then three years ago, Mike moved to Germany and is now a professor at Münster School of Business in Munster Germany. Bela retired last year from Clarkson and started doing some more sailing. So, really, this is just an interesting way for Mike and Bela to stay connected, learn from each other, and hopefully share some of our curiosity with like-minded others. The island L'ile d'Yeu lays in front of the French coast, on the border of the south coast of Bretagne en the start of Le Vendee. It has 3 harbors, of which 2 are very small and picturesque. We took our drone out and anchored in front of one of the beautiful yellow beaches. Come check it out!

Diving in Galapagos its special, as the water is quite chilly yet it is smack in the middle of the Ecuatorial line. So they are hardly any corals but quite an interesting variety of tropical fish that adapt to the colder temperatures. On the other hand these waters are full of playful Galapagos sea lions, as well as sharks, octopuses, sea horses, crayfish and other lovely fauna.

Summer 2014, Yay! While the boys were busy with Summer school, the girls and I ran around Orange County. Grandma and Auntie Joy came to visit from Australia. Cayla joined the Kids Praise Band. Starbuck the cat continued to rule the house.

We arrive in Venice, go out for dinner and eat the best pizza we have ever had in our lives... Also SPARKLING red wine?? Who knew. Bayly shows what she cooks for dinner on the boat. We walk Lenny through Venice and it neighbouring islands. How we work out at sea... yoga :)
