This episode we drive over to Pine Harbor and stay a couple of nights at a hotel while we sort out moving items onto our new home "Thistle." We sail her across from Pine Harbor in average weather as it looked to be the only weather window for about a week or so. Rob (the previous owner) sailed with us to help us remember all her systems and assist with orienteering ourselves to the new vessel. Soren was skipper and did a stealer job not to sink our new home on the first sailing experience!

Пришли на Корсику в городишко Бонифачо - Шикарнейшее, живописное место... Красотища неописуемая !!! Пришли к обеду. Переход из марины Де Орсо (Сардиния) в Бонифачо занял у нас 6 часов. Сразу же на причале отметили это событие !!! После сходили в офис марины и оплатили стоянку на двое суток ... Заплатили 68 евро. Затем совершили экскурсию в старый город с его крепостью .... Бонифачо состоит из двух частей – верхнего и нижнего города. В нижнем городе находится гавань, морской вокзал и набережная, а в верхнем расположены две главные достопримечательности Бонифачо – цитадель и ведущая к ней лестница - ее еще называют Шрамом Бонифачо. Это не что иное как каменные ступеньки высеченные в отвесной скале под углом 45 градусов ведущие с самого верху от крепости к морю Гуляли по старому городу, по его узким улочкам, заглянули в церковь, местные бутики и посидели в кафешке, продегустировали местную кухню, послушали истории с приключениями капитана и выпили французского пива местного разлива.... К вечеру вернулись на лодку... Ужинали на лодке .... На этом закончился наш первый день нашего пребывания в Бонифачо На второй день у каждого было свободное время и каждый провел его по своему усмотрению усмотрению Я более тщательно изучил старый город (тот который в крепости наверху на мысе) побродил по кладбищу старого города Не кладбище а город мертвых. Вместо могил домики где, как бы, живут души усопших We arrived to Corsica ( town of Bonifacio - a gorgeous, picturesque place) ... around noon. Sailing from Marina De Orso (Sardinia) to Bonifacio (Corsica) took us 6 hours. Upon arrival we decided to celebrate this event !!! After that we went to the marina office to pay for docking ( for two days) ... The set back was 68 euros total. Having paid the price we went to see the old town with its fortress .... Bonifacio consists of two parts - the upper and lower areass. In the lower town there is a harbor, a sea port and an embankment, and in the upper part there are two main attractions of Bonifacio - they are the citadel and the stairs leading to the sea - It is also called Scar of Bonifacio..... It's nothing but stone steps carved into a sheer rock at an angle of 45 degrees leading from the very top from the fortress to the sea We walked around the old town, along its narrow streets, visited the church, dropped in local boutiques and spent time in a cafe, tasted local cuisine, listened stories with the adventures of the captain and drank local French beer .... Around 8 pm we returned to the boat ...where we had dinner ...This emade our first day of our stay in Bonifacio On the second day, everyone had free time and everyone spent it on its ownn discretion I spent more time in the old town, wandered through the cemetery of the old city and spent some time looking at the boats inn the marina ================================= Song: DayFox - Vietnam Coast Music provided by Vlog No Copyright Music. In this episode we have arrived in the port of Palmeira on the island of Sal in the Cape Verde Islands. We check in to the country and grab a local SIM card, but after resting from our passage for 2 nights we decide to depart....it's far too dirty and dusty, and we did not find much of interest to us to see here. So we sailed west to the island of Sao Nicolao, where we found a nicer temporary anchorage for a night, then move to the west side, where we find some great snorkelling off a beach. It's starting to feel like tropical snorkelling, with coral reefs, reef fish, a ray swimming under the boat, puffer fish, and more! Thanks for following! Ambryn Island in Vanuatu is very special indeed. With its two smoking volcanoes and lush jungle covered hills it draws the attention of sailors from afar. But what makes it even more special, are its ancient tribal traditions still fully alive today. One of them is the Rom dance, practiced by the tribes from the North coast. The Rom dance is a rite of passage for young adults and it is shrouded in mystery and black magic practices. The young adult seeks the sponsorship of an elder that supplies him with a special mask and leads him in connecting with the spirits.
