En effet, votre centre d’examen vous demandera de venir avec une carte bien propre, sans déchirure, annotation ou rature, qu’ils conserveront dans leurs archives. Anette and Anders are passionate ocean wanderers who have been living aboard S/V Horizon, their Outbound 46, since 2018. They were in New Zealand and wanted to sail to Tasmania but they took a long route via Japan and Alaska. In this meticulous presentation they describe the voyage which began in early June 2025. They crossed in 9 days from Hokaido to Attu and then hugged the Aleutian Archipelago spending most of their time within the 12 mile limit in order to limit their Starlink bill. They describe the flora and fauna they encountered along the way and offer copious advice to those wishing to follow in their wake. Only 8 sailboats made this voyage in the summer of 2025.

Valerie und ich, zwei Katzen und ein Hund. sind auf unserem Boot angekommen. Alleine an Bord. Es ist Frühling in Schweden, doch es fühlt sich wie Winter an: kalt, feucht und still. Genau hier beginnt unser Leben auf dem Segelboot. Der neue Bootsalltag startet ruhig. Wir putzen, räumen um und auf. Die Sonne scheint, wir erledigen die ersten Wege an Land. Über die Fähre geht es zum Waschsalon, Heizdecken und Lebensmittel kaufen. Während die Wäsche in fremden Maschinen läuft, wächst unser Einkaufskorb und mit ihm das Gefühl, wirklich angekommen zu sein. Zurück an Bord reißt mich plötzlich ein lauter Alarm auf dem Boot aus der Stille. Unsicherheit, Sorge um die Tiere. Ich betrete das Segelboot, suche panisch nach den Katzen und finde nur eine. Zum Glück kommt Hilfe. Tomas, der uns das Boot verkauft hat, ist sofort da. Schnell wird klar: ein Bilgenalarm. Erleichterung. Wieder einmal zeigt sich, wie unvorhersehbar und lehrreich das Leben an Bord ist. Trotz Kälte, Feuchtigkeit und Eiszapfen ist für uns klar: Ein Hotel oder Airbnb kommt nicht infrage. Das Bootsleben in Schweden fordert uns und schenkt uns gleichzeitig etwas ganz Besonderes. Ein emotionaler Höhepunkt folgt, als meine beste Freundin Marzena (https://www.instagram.com/marzeniii/?igsh=MTMxcjk2eDJjYm1veQ%3D%3D) mit ihrem Sohn Luis zu Besuch kommt. Wir essen zusammen, spazieren stundenlang, entdecken die Umgebung und genießen die gemeinsame Zeit. Nach vier Tagen heißt es Abschied nehmen. Als Marzena Schweden verlässt, wird es nicht mehr dunkel. Das Licht bleibt. Und mit ihm eine wundervolle Erinnerung. Tomas, der Vorbesitzer unseres Bootes stand immer mit Rat und Tat in dieser Anfangszeit bereit. Das er neben seiner Arbeit auch noch freiwillig viele Schichten beim schwedischen Seenotrettungsdienst absolviert, hat uns sehr beeindruckt. So kam er auch eines Tages mit seinen Mitarbeiter(innen) zu Besuch, sie wollten sich das Boot ansehen und von unseren Plänen erfahren...
