Unser erster Stop ist Medellin. Mit mehr als 2,6 Millionen Einwohnern ist Medellín nach der Hauptstadt Bogotá die zweitgrößte Stadt Kolumbiens. Die Stadt befindet sich derzeit im Wandel. Im Zeitraum 1990–1999 berichtet die Statistik von mehr als 45.000 Morden, erreicht aber seinen niedrigsten Stand an Tötungsdelikten im August 2007 und liegt inzwischen niedriger als so manche Stadt in den Vereinigten Staaten. Die Stadt betreibt neben den Metrolinien sechs Seilbahnlinien zu den Armenvierteln Santo Domingo und San Javier. In der Talstation der Linie K lernen wir zufällig Marcos kennen, der sich hier mit einem niederländischen Volontär getroffen hat. Während der gemeinsamen Fahrt in der Seilbahn erfahren wir bereits viel über Marcos und seine Stiftung „Angeles de Medellin“ und entscheiden uns spontan, ihn für diesen Tag in das Armenviertel „Regalo de Dios“ zu begleiten. In diesen vergessenen Stadtteilen gibt es keine befestigten Straßen und kein fließendes Wasser. Als Marcos zum ersten Mal aus dem Bundesstaat New York nach Medellín kam, begann er ehrenamtlich Englisch an einer örtlichen Schule zu unterrichten. Später eröffnete er ein Gemeindezentrum in einem gemieteten Gebäude im Stadtteil „Regalo de Dios“, wo eine Reihe von vertriebenen Familien leben. Jetzt können hier Kinder in geschützter Umgebung ihre Nachmittage mit unbeschwertem Spielen verbringen, Jugendliche und Erwachsene nehmen am Englischunterricht teil, machen einen Nähkurs oder Maniküre und Pediküre. Plötzlich beschleunigte sich mein Leben erheblich, ich verkaufte mein Haus, löste den Hausrat auf und begann Berge an Schiffsausrüstung anzuschaffen. „Leinen los!“ war für Anfang März 2021geplant – und so kam es auch, trotz Corona. Brigitta war natürlich erst einmal vollkommen überrascht, obwohl eine Weltumsegelung wesentlich besser in Ihr berufliches Leben als Vorruheständlerin passte als in meins. In den letzten 6 Monaten hat Sie aber eine erstaunliche Entwicklung hinter sich gebracht und freut sich auf unser großes Abenteuer genau wie ich. Der Betrieb und sein Ausbau finanziert sich über das UN-Konzept zum Klimaschutz durch Emissionshandel. Die Statistik berichtet von mehr als 45.000 Tötungsdelikten im Zeitraum 1990–1999. Erst nachdem paramilitärische Milizen vertrieben und Ende 2003 entwaffnet wurden, sank die Zahl drastisch von 6.700 Fällen (1991) auf 778 Fälle (2004) und lag somit unter dem Durchschnitt anderer lateinamerikanischer Großstädte. The 62 built on the success of the 45 and 54 Deck Saloons. Designed by Bill Dixon, the brief was to create a luxury ocean crossing cruising yacht, easily sailed by one or two with single level cockpit to saloon living. This is a Bluewater passage maker which is equally suited to simple day sailing. The layout consists of three double cabins plus a crew cabin with four heads and showers in total. The owner’s cabin is forward and is stunning with a slightly offset island berth, massive storage capacity and a very large head and shower. The VIP guest cabin is to port with private ensuite, and the third guest double cabin has twin berths and another head and shower which can double as the day head. The crew cabin is accessed via the cockpit and would keep any teenager grinning or simply doubles as a very useable storage cabin. Opposite this is another large storage space and workshop. There is a dedicated control centre / nav or work station and the main saloon area is a luxuriously comfortable and practical space. Im Frühjahr 2020 erhielt ich die Diagnose Morbus Parkinson. Plötzlich beschleunigte sich mein Leben erheblich, ich verkaufte mein Haus, löste den Hausrat auf und begann Berge an Schiffsausrüstung anzuschaffen. „Leinen los!“ war für Anfang März 2021geplant – und so kam es auch, trotz Corona. Brigitta war natürlich erst einmal vollkommen überrascht, obwohl eine Weltumsegelung wesentlich besser in Ihr berufliches Leben als Vorruheständlerin passte als in meins. In den letzten 6 Monaten hat Sie aber eine erstaunliche Entwicklung hinter sich gebracht und freut sich auf unser großes Abenteuer genau wie ich. Born as a Little Harbor 58, the hull was stretched by a foot to provide for a larger aft deck (fantail). Der heute freigelegte Teil der Stadt liegt zwischen 900 und 1200 m ü. NN. Für mich war diese Wanderung nach dem Marathon die bisher größte physische Herausforderung meines Lebens. Da meine Wanderschuhe nicht passten, musste ich den größten Teil unter immensen Schmerzen zurücklegen. Ich rate jedem nur bei ordentlicher Kondition und mit Schuhzeug in dieses Abenteuer zu starten, dass verlässlich angenehm und bequem, aber auch trittsicher ist. Es regnet täglich, wie es in den Tropen üblich ist, wie aus Kübeln. Was einmal nass ist, trocknet auf dieser Wanderung nicht mehr. Dies gilt insbesondere für Socken und Schuhe. Moskitos sind überall und zerstechen alle Hautflächen, die nicht abgedeckt sind. Moskitospray gehört zur Grundausstattung. Die Lager sind einfach um nicht zu sagen primitiv. Ich war aus hygienischen Gründen froh meinen Hüttenschlafsack mitgenommen zu haben. Das Essen ist lecker und reichhaltig. Habt Ihr konkrete Fragen? Dafür haben wir uns einen Katamaran gekauft, mit dem wir Anfang März 2021 von der französischen Atlantikküste auf die Barfußroute gestartet sind. Seit vielen Jahren war eine Weltumsegelung mein (Hannes) großer Traum, den ich berufsbedingt zum Renteneintrittsalter verwirklichen wollte. Manchmal kommt das Leben aber anders als man plant. Im Frühjahr 2020 erhielt ich die Diagnose Morbus Parkinson. Plötzlich beschleunigte sich mein Leben erheblich, ich verkaufte mein Haus, löste den Hausrat auf und begann Berge an Schiffsausrüstung anzuschaffen. „Leinen los!“ war für Anfang März 2021geplant – und so kam es auch, trotz Corona. Brigitta war natürlich erst einmal vollkommen überrascht, obwohl eine Weltumsegelung wesentlich besser in Ihr berufliches Leben als Vorruheständlerin passte als in meins. In den letzten 6 Monaten hat Sie aber eine erstaunliche Entwicklung hinter sich gebracht und freut sich auf unser großes Abenteuer genau wie ich.
