Come along as we tour a Brewer Pan Oceanic 46. It's the biggest sailboat we've ever considered buying! As you may already know, we are on the hunt for our next cruising sailboat. To ensure that nothing slips past us we check for new listings multiple times a day. We were aware of this Pan Oceanic 46 coming onto the market within an hour of the listing being posted. We immediately called the Seller, scheduled a viewing, and within 24 hours of the boat being advertised we were walking down the dock towards it. Our initial impressions of her were quickly shattered within the first few seconds of descending the companionway, because at that time we discovered that the ceiling height throughout much of the boat is about 2" less than the required standing height of good ole Cap'n Ben. This was a shocking discovery on a boat this size. Ben requires 6ft+ of headroom, but this particular PO46 only offers around 5'10". We figure that the Pan Oceanic 46 in stock form probably does have at least 6ft of standing headroom, but this one with its modified ceiling liner has much less. Our best guess is that the prior owner may have reduced the ceiling height when he replaced the original ceiling liner with the wood planking. There was so much that we liked about this boat and if it weren't for the lack of standing headroom, we would have made an offer. The HUGE flush deck, updated rigging, new sails, new Yanmar engine, new generator, and plenty of additional gear made this Pan Oceanic 46 a very attractive prospect. Sure it needs plenty of cosmetic TLC, but we feel like this Pan Oceanic 46 has great potential. If only Cap'n Ben was 5'9" tall this PO46 could have been our next cruising sailboat. TRES MARES is a sailboat built in the Belliure shipyard in Alicante, Spain in 1985. It is a fiberglass reinforced polyester sailboat designed by the prestigious naval architect Peter Ibold. The yacht has been commissioned to America by her first owner. In 1993 her second owner returned the yacht to Spain under the Spanish flag and he kept her until 2012. It has been very hard for him to decide to sell the boat due to his emotional attachment to the yacht. The third and actual owner is a family that has been living onboard for the last 7 years. Tres Mares was for them a life project enjoying their family's daily life. The actual owners started working on its restoration as soon as they bought it. The yacht has a classic line constructed to test all types of sea conditions. They made a complete refit on many parts of the boat such as a complete refurbishment of the motor, improvements on the galley, replacement of the upholstery, and many other things. During these last 7 years, they have been enjoying sailing with friends and family around the Balearic Islands, Columbretes, and the Mediterranean coast. Our imaginations soon turned into interests and those interests grew like a weed. We began reading books, watching videos, and practicing knots. Before we knew it we were signing up for sailing lessons and taking offshore sailing courses. Last year we started looking at boats for sale. Now, nearly 6 years later, we are proud owners of the beautiful vessel, Moon Drifter. Moon Drifter is an extremely well taken care of and maintained single owner catamaran. Alle Segelvarianten konnten wir ausprobieren - Parasailor, Fock, Groß. Das zu späte Bergen des Parasailors habe ich dann jedoch mit schmerzhaften Brandblasen bezahlt. Wir haben in einer Bucht geankert, wurden aber vom Schwell in die Marina zurückgetrieben. Wir haben Delfine und Wale beobachtet. Außerdem berichten wir von unserem Leben in Las Palmas. Ansa 42 is a 41′ 6″ monohull sailboat designed by Ocke Mannerfelt and built-in Sweden by Rex Marin / Ansa Sailing AB (SWE) starting in 1979. Hull type Fin w/spade rudder. The boat has been just surveyed, you will notice all the surveyor´s comments close to each item. She is available for viewing in Port Ginesta, Barcelona. In 2020 the boat had a preventative osmosis treatment. Works included sand and strip off old antifouling, epoxy paste, and epoxy paint, and finally Antifouling. This is a yacht built for fast passage making. She had a new engine recently and is about to be lifted out for a couple of new seacocks to be installed at the owner's request. Specified for “off the grid” Bluewater family cruising, Triplicity was handed over in France in 2019 by the Australian Lagoon agent - TMG and is a fully tax paid Australian registered vessel. With sustainable living front of mind, the owners designed a stylish bespoke Stainless Steel arch housing 8x390W panels totaling 3,120W. Hier haben wir vor allem einen 4-wöchigen Spanischunterricht genossen, der unserem Vagabundenleben vorrübergehend Alltagsstruktur gegeben hat. In dieser Zeit durften wir auf einem Trimaran mitsegeln. Dafür haben wir uns einen Katamaran gekauft, mit dem wir Anfang März von der französischen Atlantikküste auf die Barfußroute gestartet sind. Plötzlich beschleunigte sich mein Leben erheblich, ich verkaufte mein Haus, löste den Hausrat auf und begann Berge an Schiffsausrüstung anzuschaffen. „Leinen los!“ war für Anfang März geplant – und so kam es auch, trotz Corona. Brigitta war natürlich erst einmal vollkommen überrascht, obwohl eine Weltumsegelung wesentlich besser in Ihr berufliches Leben als Vorruheständlerin passte als in meins. In den letzten 6 Monaten hat Sie aber eine erstaunliche Entwicklung hinter sich gebracht und freut sich auf unser großes Abenteuer genau wie ich. ** NOW SOLD ** Makala is a Beneteau Oceanis 510 now exclusively for sale with YOTI. Launched in 1993 Makala represents an era of production boat building which gave us lasting strength, powerful hardware and sleek and beautiful lines both above and below deck. This example is offered for sale by just her second owner. She was first commissioned for her first owner in Perth, WA. Makala was set up to be a large capacity, comfortable, larger cruising boat for adventures with family and friends. Her current owner, an experienced shipwright, personally delivered the yacht back to Sydney. Makala is the four double cabin version with an additional crew cabin in the bow which doubles as a seriously large storage room. Each double cabin has its own private head and shower. The saloon is beautiful and was clearly designed to be a comfortable space for the full crew. The galley is functional both at rest or underway. Refrigeration is large and there is a separate freezer. The interior is finished in varnished teak and looks great. All main bulk heads are bonded and glassed to the hull giving excellent strength and rigidity. The 75Hp Yanmar shaft drive was installed new in 2007. It is centrally mounted under the island bench so access is excellent. Standing rigging was replaced in 2003 and the forestay and furler were new in approx 2016. The mainsail and genoa have been updated around 2010 and just serviced by Ian Short Sails in 2020. There are two spinnakers plus a spare mainsail. The keel is intelligently a shoal draft version so allows for ultimate exploring of anchorages. Makala was anti-fouled in just June 2021. Raymarine instrumentation includes a chart plotter in the cockpit plus auto-pilot. There is another plotter at the nav station. Makala is an extremely comfortable, easy to handle 50 foot yacht. This is not a vessel that intimidates as some 50 footers can; yet she has all the capacity, comfort and sea kindliness that comes with a larger yacht. With comfort and durability priorities on the design brief, this Oceanis 510 would suit anything from large group sailing to couple adventures. ** NOW SOLD ** Valparaiso is a 2003 Elan 40 now exclusively for sale with YOTI Sydney Harbour. The Elan 40 is a genuine racer/cruiser from the design table of Rob Humphreys and extremely well built by Elan Marine in Slovenia, using modern technologies but with a respect to tradition. Elan Marine whose heritage in boat building dates back over seventy years are renowned for their innovation and quality of construction. Valparaiso was specified from the factory in race configuration, coming fitted with the deeper 2.4m keel, stainless-steel rod rigging, an increased mast height and larger sail area. She is a 3-cabin layout with a J-shaped galley to starboard fitted with a large top opening fridge, 3 burner gas stove and oven as well as twin basin stainless steel sinks. To port is forward facing navigation area with plenty of room for electronics. Joinery work is a cut above most production boats and ventilation in the saloon via the opening ports is excellent. Valparaiso’s instruments are by Raymarine and she is fitted with a GPS Plotter, sonder and log, wind and speed gauges as well as Autopilot. She also comes with a Raymarine VHF radio and a GME hand-held. Her sail wardrobe includes a fully battened Hood main with lazy jacks and boom bag, a Hood #2 Genoa on a furler as well as a #3 fully battened jib and Norths symmetrical spinnaker.
