Das Wetterfenster beschert uns leider keine optimalen Wind- und Wellenbedingungen. Die meiste Zeit haben wir Wind, Welle und Strömung gegen uns, so dass wir 2 Tage länger als gedacht unterwegs sind und nach 6 Tagen endlich in die Marina Bartholome Colon in Santo Domingo einlaufen. Nicole, ein dreijähriges Mädchen, erwartet uns bereits zusammen mit ihrer Mutter, Großmutter, einigen Kusinen und Gemeindemitarbeitern in ihrem Dorf. Alle gucken uns neugierig an und wir probieren uns in einigen, wenigen Brocken Spanisch, um uns mit der Familie bekannt zu machen. Brigitta war natürlich erst einmal vollkommen überrascht, obwohl eine Weltumsegelung wesentlich besser in Ihr berufliches Leben als Vorruheständlerin passte als in meins. In den letzten 6 Monaten hat Sie aber eine erstaunliche Entwicklung hinter sich gebracht und freut sich auf unser großes Abenteuer genau wie ich.
