Some of you may have seen these clips in our other YouTube videos. However we have some dead links on our website as we stopped paying the bills at Vimeo so we are re-posting a few edits. If this is new to you Welcome! ROAM is the first launched Spirited 480 designed by Craig Schonning and built by the Hoult family on the East Coast of Tasmania, Australia. With design tweaks by owner Michael Hoult she has been made to be the ultimate surf adventure vehicle. Long term, Sustainable, Low Impact travel is the focus of ROAM. Think "Off Grid", we are 100% solar powered for our electric supply. ROAM features a huge 1.1kW solar array. Think "Wind Energy", the sail plan and deck hardware have been carefully selected to allow efficient sailing in all weathers. From the strong winds of the Roaring 40's to ultra light conditions experienced around the equator ROAM will be able to travel under renewable wind power alone. This all adds up to seldom use of Roam's diesel powered auxiliary propulsion and makes for ultra low emission, "Low Impact" travel. Subscribe to see our new videos, released every few weeks. Everyone keeps asking me to do a walkthrough with commentary... So here you go! I look forward to some feedback!!! This is on a Leopard 48 that I just closed on, and we surveyed a couple of weeks ago in St. Croix. She was a really well equipped catamaran, and surveyed very well. In this episode, we get tours of two VERY different boats. Oriental is a popular stop for many cruisers on their way south for the winter, so we are able to meet many cool people while we are here. Martjin is on a Custom built steel boat that's 45 feet long with a 17 foot beam! Jim is on a Cape Dory 22. Both are fabulous boats that offer very different spaces to call home. We also do some chores including brushing the bottom of Wisdom and plugging another leaky hose. We finish off with a much needed update. ► Full article is available in Multihulls World #157: https://www.multihulls-world.com/review/trimaran/rapido-60-the-fastest-production-multihull-in-the-world ► This trimaran was designed with the aim of reconciling performance and comfort. Of course, the living space offered bears no resemblance to catamarans of the same size. The same is true when you compare the Rapido 60 with a NEEL, even a smaller one. Here, the floats remain... simply floats. Only the central hull is fitted out - and the width remains quite contained. Nevertheless, this powerful and incredibly fast unit offers exceptional sailing pleasure and is a joy to helm. The polars even show speeds sometimes exceeding 30 knots, quite a program... This model is now experiencing colossal interest since the crew of La Vagabonde has announced an order for this model! ► TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS Manufacturer: Rapido Trimarans Length: 59’5” (18.10 m) Beam: 38’5” (11.70 m) Draft: 2’6” (0.75 m) Light displacement: 22,050 lbs (10 t) Mainsail: 1,345 sq ft (125 m²) Solent: 764 sq ft (71 m²) Reacher: 1,400 sq ft (130 m²) Engine: 53 HP ► Become a FREE SUBSCRIBER to Multihulls World's YouTube page now - https://www.youtube.com/c/MultihullsWorld ► Log on to our website to discover over 500 multihulls tests! Full test is available in Multihulls World #157: https://www.multihulls-world.com/review/catamaran/lagoon-40-a-clever-and-sharp-40-footer Preview of our test onboard the Lagoon 40 catamaran. During our complete test of the Lagoon 40 back in January 2018, we really liked the boat's overall balance. The other striking features: a helm with real sensations, with beautiful agility to the platform, resulting from the weight centering efforts, the particular geometry of the aft-set rig and a really efficient sail plan. Easy to handle, pleasant and comfortable, the Lagoon 40 is a fun boat to sail in a breeze: we frequently exceeded 15 knots when we sailed more than 250 miles aboard. A reasonable catamaran that’s versatile and well-designed, she will delight a couple or a family wandering the oceans or around the coast. TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS Builder: Lagoon Length: 38’6” (11.74 m) Beam: 22’2” (6.76 m) Light displacement: 23,800 lbs (10.8 t) Draft: 4’5” (1.35 m) Mainsail area: 516 sq ft (48 m²) Jib: 344 sq ft (32 m²) Code 0: 678 sq ft (63 m²) No. of cabins: 3 or 4 Water: 2 x 79 US gal (2 x 300 l) Diesel: 2 x 53 US gal (2 x 200 l) Engines: 2 x 29/45 HP Log on to our website to discover over 500 multihulls tests! Designers Marc Van Peteghem and Vincent Lauriot Prevost were given a challenging assignment by the Lagoon management team: Design a catamaran for world cruising that includes just about everything you'd want or need at home. Built on the success of L440, the 500 features Lagoon's innovative gull-wing bridgedeck design, that improves clearance and makes the hulls more efficient in the water. Her huge cockpit feels like natural extension of saloon which makes her incredibly comfortable and she sails incredibly smooth! "Lady Mia" is a 5+1 cabin charter version of L500, built in 2006, then privately used for three years until her current owner bought her in order to establish and run charter business. She is located in Sibenik, Dalmatia, available for viewing. The owner is selling the whole business with the boat (Croatian company), which would continue to bring her very good revenue. She is extremely well priced and maintained well. Do not miss this fantastic opportunity to see Lady Mia! She is equipped well and ready for work for you. And to bring you a fantastic memories.

Really appreciate the support, check out the Patreon for more access and perks: https://www.patreon.com/FindingSimon If Patreon isn't your thing, I also have a Paypal.me link: paypal.me/ShelbyandSimon I'm a Canadian photographer from Ottawa who got rid of everything to travel to world. I make travel vlogs sharing my ups and downs, adventures on motorbikes, sailboats, and vans. Instagram: @Finding_Simon Snapchat: Finding_Simon Twitter: @FindingSimon Donations: paypal.me/ShelbyandSimon Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/FindingSimon Merchandise: http://simonstiles.com/finding-simon/ :::::::FAQ::::::: - How do you afford to travel constantly? A: I travel really cheap, free camping, cooking my own meals, being as efficient as possible. I make my income almost entirely on YouTube but it's really tight. Ad revenue, patreon, paypal donations, merchandise sales and affiliate links bring in about as much as a part time minimum wage job, and I'm able to make that work. When it isn't enough I go back to work, doing photography mostly, sometimes commercial video projects, but it takes me away from my travels and videos. - How much does it cost? I spend on average $2000 travelling, most of which is gas, some repairs, food, and on average less than $200 on any eating out, shopping or extra curricular expenditures. I make $200 a month from YouTube and $400 from Patreon. The rest I make from my work. - What camera do you use? Sony A7ii, DJI Mavic Pro, Rode Videomic with Deadcat, Zihyun Crane 3 Axis Gimbal, DIY tripods and lights. - What is your bike? 1999 Yamaha Vstar XVS1100 with a Champion Escort sidecar. - What kind of boat is that? It's a 1979 Wharram Oro 47 - What're your plans? Fix it up, run nothing but green power, sail off into the sunset. - How do you find all these cool places? To gain access to my complete research you need to hit me up on Patreon, but here's a few sites I frequent: https://freecampsites.net/ https://www.campendium.com/ http://www.atlasobscura.com/ https://www.couchsurfing.com/ - What do you do for Internet? I use coffeeshops and libraries to upload episodes a few at a time, I also use my wifi antenna (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5T9lNM8Mukk&t=2s) and a data package on my phone (10GB) - How do you live on the road with a dog? It's really not as difficult as people seem to think. I spend most of the day with my dog anyways, especially if it's warm out in the middle of the day. I let the constraint of bringing my dog with me help me make some decisions, avoiding places that ban dogs, and spending more time out in nature instead of in the cities. - What happened to the girl? We decided to go separate ways (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aPgxDIXxCjY&t=4s) - Are you rich or something? definitely not. I've spent some quality time homeless, I've struggled financially most of my life, and although I'm blessed with great friends and family as well as being able bodied white and male, I don't subscribe to the belief that you need someone footing your bills in order to travel the world. You need to sacrifice comfort, consistency, safety, time with family, and often your career but it is possible. - Why don't you have 10x more subscribers? My channel isn't that old, many of the bigger channels you can compare mine to started putting out videos a couple years before I began. I could always use your help sharing my videos, spreading the word, and connecting with cross promotional opportunities. Editing and travelling tend to take up all my time. - Where are you now? The top perk on my Patreon page is a live link of my location on google maps so you can get an active idea of where I am currently. If that's not an option for you there's also Instagram and Instagram stories that give you a much better idea of what I'm up to today.

In charter or in private use, this rather sensible-looking trimaran, that offers incredible interior and exterior volumes, but also performance and behavior, is comparable to the best catamarans. The owner's cabin on the main deck in the nacelle offers an exclusive view of the seascape. Full article is available in Multihulls World #156 : https://www.multihulls-world.com/review/catamaran/leopard-45-a-proper-owner-s-catamaran Preview of our test onboard the Leopard 45 catamaran In 2017, with their 45, Robertson and Caine offered an attractive catamaran: this model satisfies the expectations of charterers or owners who are sensitive to the concept of open spaces. During our test, we appreciated the design of the hulls and the seakindly behavior under sail. The forward cockpit, accessible from inside, has become emblematic of the Leopard range: a definite asset for hedonistic sailors - and for all a must at anchor to enjoy life on board. The forward door is also an excellent way to ventilate the saloon in the tropical sun. A successful model that’s now evolving: the all-new Lounge version with fully-equipped flybridge has great appeal! TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS Builder: Robertson & Caine Length: 45’ (13.72 m) Beam: 24’2” (7.36 m) Light displacement: 32,850 lbs (14.9 t) Draft: 4’11” (1.50 m) Mainsail area: 829/817 sq ft (77/75.9 m²) Genoa: 500 sq ft (46.5 m²) Spinnaker: 1,505 sq ft (140 m²) No. of cabins: 3 or 4 + port forepeak Water: 206 US gal (780 l) Diesel: 185 US gal (700 l) Engines: 2 x 45 HP Log on to our website to discover over 500 multihulls tests! In this video we give you a tour of our home and adventure vessel Nova, a 41ft Contest :) If after watching this video you have any questions then please comment below and we will get back to you! As always thank you for joining us on our adventure :D
This Leopard 58 was ordered by an experienced yachts man, a (3) time Leopard owner. This yacht is loaded with almost every possible factory option, and has been maintained by a full time captain. No expense spared, perfect condition, ready to go, never chartered. This yacht can be an extremely comfortable live-aboard, a successful (day) charter yacht or comfortable global traveler. There is no larger fly bridge on any other catamaran in this size range, or a more "open" and well ventilated salon as on the Leopard 58. 250 hours on the engines and generator. This is one of those yachts that can truly be advertised as 'better than new'.

Full article is available in Multihulls World #155: https://www.multihulls-world.com/review/catamaran/swisscat-s48-a-bespoke-epoxy-catamaran Preview of our test onboard the SwissCat S48 catamaran The S48 is a blue water cruising catamaran exclusively designed and built on request for demanding owners. Built in epoxy/glass sandwich (with carbon reinforcements), very well-equipped, it is both reassuring and enjoyable to handle. Much of the pleasure experienced on board is the result of the care taken with the deck layout - quality of sail trimming maneuvers, winch size, clarity and efficiency. Managing the superb fractional rig with its magnificent carbon mast and its special boom is almost child's play! The S48 is now being built in Portugal. A new example is currently in build. TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS Shipyard: SwissCat Yachts Length: 15 m (49’3”) Beam: 7.56 m (24’10) Light displacement: 11 t Draft: 1.10/2.90 m (3’7”/9’6”) Mainsail area: 71.5 m² (770 sq ft) Genoa: 52 m² (560 sq ft) Gennaker: 127 m² (1,365 sq ft) Engines: 2 x 45 HP Log on to our website to discover over 500 multihulls tests! Full article is available in Multihulls World #155: https://www.multihulls-world.com/review/catamaran/fountaine-pajot-saona-47-showing-the-future-of-the-range Preview of our test onboard the Fountaine Pajot Saona 47 catamaran Between the Elba 45 and the Saba 50, Fountaine Pajot positioned a 47-foot catamaran, the Saona 47. The silhouette is successful and the helm station as practical as it is comfortable. The 47 clearly benefits from the new standard of quality evident on board this latest generation and the creativity of Isabelle Racoupeau, in charge of interior design. The version we tried, with carbon mast, Dyneema rigging and membrane sails is particularly attractive... but even without these luxurious options, the Saona shows interesting speed potential. The seakeeping behavior felt safe: during our test, we took on a Mistral blowing at 50 knots and nothing broke! TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS Builder: Fountaine Pajot Length: 45’9” (13.94 m) Beam: 25’3” (7.70 m) Light displacement: 32,407 lbs (14.7 t) Draft: 3’11” (1.20 m) Mainsail area: 829 sq ft (77 m²) Genoa: 560 sq ft (52 m²) No. of cabins: 3 or 4 Water: 185 US gal (700 l) Diesel: 2 x 124 US gal (2 x 470 l) Engines: 2 x 50/60 HP Log on to our website to discover over 500 multihulls tests!
