The Lahakai sailboat is a 34” custom built steel sailboat, made in 1997 in France and sailed all the way to the shores of Brazil. It was then brought to Niteroi where she sat completely neglected in a boat club for 10 years. And that’s when we found her! Additionally, the FD87 offers a new bow design called the “High Performance Piercing Bow” (HPPB), which saw across-the-board hydrodynamic improvements in both tank and CFD testing. While alternative bow designs that feature protrusions work more efficiently at either high or slower speeds, the HPPB brings both efficiency at slower speeds and performance at higher speeds.
