Perciò scriviamo, telefoniamo, chiediamo aiuto a tutti. 🤐 A domani! C.
Heading down the ICW just north of Palm beach, looking for a good spot to drop anchor. Found a good spot referred to as Conch Bar. Ten feet of water with excellent protection all around. Its a small little cut out circled by multi million dollar houses all around. They paid five to ten million for the pleasure of these views. Me? I get to enjoy them for free! Splash down the anchor and enjoy a little bit of the good life coastal sailing Florida. Having a little fun with slo-mo videography. First time using a couple tricks I learned recently on good ole YouTube.
Can we squeeze another sail in for the season? There was a chill in the November air, but Toni and I loaded some provisions into “Moments in Time” for an autumn sail. We enjoyed the sounds of autumn in the light winds while we searched for a secluded cove to drop anchor for the night. Feel free to comment and let us know your thoughts. Our first washing day since we connected the first solar panels :-) We have ended with more in the batteries than we started the day despite multiple loads of washing and spin drying, doing the washing up (between them and drinks boiling the kettle on the induction hob at least 6 times), and running my computer (mini desktop with 40" screen). We are now living aboard our Rival 38 Centre Cockpit full-time while finishing a refit so we can launch ASAP. We have a frequently updated blog at https://sustainablesailing.net with membership options and a weekly newsletter at £2 per month for Early Bird Supporters. Our free Sustainable Sailing book is at: https://sustainablesailing.codeberg.p... Or visit our shop at https://sustainablesailing.teemill.com/ for great hoodies, t-shirts and bags. When we bought Vida in August 2019 she was in a very tired and damp condition with all original equipment and fittings (much of it not working). We have removed all the gas, diesel and paraffin equipment, and are installing all-electric (motor, cooking etc). We've been out on my 33year old, 30ft Sagitta catamaran a few times since launching a month ago. But yesterday was the first "real" sail. I was joined by Alex and Kristina, who had sailed the boat a couple of times last year. There was more wind than expected, 20+ in Plymouth Sound. We left the mooring at 14.30, reached out to sea until we were 10 miles south of the breakwater (according to the gps) then turned round and were back on mooring at 17.30. 27 miles sailed. No breakages, but a spinnaker wrap on the last gybe as we re-entered the Tamar. So "a good time was had by all", and hopefully bodes well for the Falmouth Triangle race this holiday weekend.
