Installing a new floor in an Edencraft is far from a simple task. This 565 build has reached the Joining Shed stage. After completing the stringers, full tank installation, foaming, leveling, and glassing, the floor is finally ready for a dry fit. Once the dry fitting is complete, both surfaces will be prepped. The base of the floor will be resin-coated, and the hull will be layered with chopped fiberglass and resin. With precision, the floor is then carefully placed in position and weighted down to create a strong chemical bond between the two surfaces. From this point, any gap between the floor liner and the hull will be filled with foam, sanded to perfection, and sealed with a layer of fibreglass. One of our friends in Monterey let us take his Boston Whaler out for a spin, and Ira discovered... again... that she likes to go fast! She asked me to sit in the front so I could feel what it was like to try to take photographs from the front of the boat, and boy was it bumpy! She offered to speed up to try to skip across the wave tops a bit more, but I felt like it was plenty fast. Just like on a bumpy road, sometimes the best way to smooth out the ride is to go 100MPH...?
