There comes a time in every cruiser's life where they will eventually face the need to replace their cutlass bearings. We've dropped our rudders, taken the props off (BYE BYE!), and the shafts out. The shafts are really important not to damage, scratch or knick in way away so both shafts have been cradled like precious babies and stored in a safe, secure area on cushioning. Once all of that was done, it was time to get the Cutlass Bearings out. This week's episode on YouTube we are covering: Why cutlass bearings need to be replaced When to replace them HOW to get the cutlass bearing out WITHOUT SWEARING LIKE A SAILOR 😂 The link to this week's episode is in the comments below: • • • #sailing #sailboat #liveabroad #sailboatliving #boatlife #Boating #travellife #travel #worldtravelers #sailinglife #sailors #sailinglovers #sailingyacht #belowdeck #lifeatsea #sailinggirls #sailaway #travelcommunity #traveltips #tinyhome #smallhome #sailingadventure #adventureseeker #adventure #ycass #bucketlisters #adventuretime
Step into the treacherous world of "The Lion of Crete," the enigmatic and ruthless pirate who ruled the Mediterranean in the 18th century. Discover the captivating stories of this mysterious figure, whose real name remains a mystery to this day. Commanding a fleet of pirate ships, he unleashed audacious attacks on unsuspecting merchant vessels, striking fear into the hearts of sailors across the region. Don't miss this thrilling glimpse into the audacity and ferocity of Cretan pirates that will leave you on the edge of your seat! Piracy in the Aegean Sea was a sophisticated operation that involved a network of pirates, merchants, and other collaborators. The pirates had bases on various islands and the mainland, from where they launched their attacks. They used fast and maneuverable ships, armed with cannons and other weapons, to overpower their targets. Once they captured a ship, they would loot its cargo, including money, precious metals, and slaves. They would then sell the loot to merchants and other traders, who were willing to buy them at a lower price. #shorts #pirates #piratesoftheaegean
First Light - Beneteau First 35 slipping into the main harbour at the half way mark of the Harbour Race of Cork Week 2024. With over 100 boats on the start line everyone was fighting for air shortly after the start, with the tide coming in all day it paid to get right early to find both clear air and some relief from the stronger tide out in the main channel. On the way back in the trick was to find the deepest part of the channel to ensure you were in maximum tide to increase your speed over ground. The team at Bottom Up Boats hope you like this short clip from our week of racing at Volvo Cork Week 2024
