While sailing though Vanuatu, we came across this massive 50m superyacht high and dry up on the reef. She had been shipwrecked during Cyclone Pam in 2015, and ever since then, it has been a struggle between owners, the government, and the local village as to who owns her, and what to do about it. The story was so intriguing that we filmed a documentary style video on the mystery surrounding the Blue Gold, and find out that in a week they were actually going to try drag her off the reef. After months of hard work, we’ve finally reached the final days of our major sailboat refit! 🛠️ In the final days we move the boat to the ramp, replace the prop shafts, install brand new Flexofold propellers, apply a fresh coat of antifoul, and finally — relaunch our home back into the water!
