While sailing though Vanuatu, we came across this massive 50m superyacht high and dry up on the reef. She had been shipwrecked during Cyclone Pam in 2015, and ever since then, it has been a struggle between owners, the government, and the local village as to who owns her, and what to do about it. The story was so intriguing that we filmed a documentary style video on the mystery surrounding the Blue Gold, and find out that in a week they were actually going to try drag her off the reef. The end of the video😭💍 When the stars and planets align… they really align. ✨ This day was already special. We were sailing past Diamond Head heading to our swimming anchorage with a surprise proposal waiting just moments ahead. Then a pair of humpback whales surfaced behind our catamaran on our sail back. 🐋 They stayed on the surface for quite some time. One of those rare moments you feel lucky just to witness. And somehow, it gets even better. Someone recognized our boat, captured this moment, and sent us the footage. ( @makaiclicks ) Being part of moments like this never gets old for us. La giornata parte come al solito: sveglia, colazione, lavorazioni, navigazione. Grande novità: un breve soffio di vento si è fatto sentire da queste parti! L’equipaggio era talmente contento che per un paio d’ore c’è stata una frenesia rara a bordo. Vele che venivano issate Vele ammainate Poi issate nuovamente Poi ammainate per issare una vela più adatta. Io ero sotto che lavoravo e sentivo questo trambusto di 4 bimbi adulti che finalmente varcano i cancelli del luna park e possono giocare. Stupendo 😂 Oggi siamo arrivati a sud di Lanzarote ma non ci siamo fermati. Ci fermeremo domani, quando i nostri parabordi toccheranno suolo di Las Palmas. Sperando che il vento torni a farci visita!
