While sailing though Vanuatu, we came across this massive 50m superyacht high and dry up on the reef. She had been shipwrecked during Cyclone Pam in 2015, and ever since then, it has been a struggle between owners, the government, and the local village as to who owns her, and what to do about it. The story was so intriguing that we filmed a documentary style video on the mystery surrounding the Blue Gold, and find out that in a week they were actually going to try drag her off the reef. Manta Point in central Komodo is a drift dive with a flat rubble bottom and usually great Manta sightings…..sometimes upto 50 on one dive !! The Manta come here to feed, clean and mate mostly from September through to April but sometimes year round. We often also see Marble Rays, Turtles, Reef Sharks and Blue Spotted Stingrays here as we drift along in the current.
