While sailing though Vanuatu, we came across this massive 50m superyacht high and dry up on the reef. She had been shipwrecked during Cyclone Pam in 2015, and ever since then, it has been a struggle between owners, the government, and the local village as to who owns her, and what to do about it. The story was so intriguing that we filmed a documentary style video on the mystery surrounding the Blue Gold, and find out that in a week they were actually going to try drag her off the reef. Despite cyclone warning, we headed off to climb the Le Morne Mountain in Mauritius. The hike is 3.5 km one way - easy trail to the basecamp, where the trail become a bit steep and several sections are nearly rock climbing - not to be undertaken by the faint hearted and definitely not when raining….. We did the climb before the rain started and had a wonderful, not so hot climb. On a sunny day the sea and the different shades of blue / green must be mind blowing. #adventure #hiking #hikingadventures #mauritius #lemorne
