We Made it! Back to Cruising Life, aka Fixing All the Sh*t we Broke 😂 (Calico Skies Sailing Ep.102)

Well, we made it to Mexico! And that mean's we're officially back to Cruising Life and done with Passage Life, at least until the next time. There are a few priorities upon arriving and the specifics change depending on where we are, but one thing that never changes is the need to fix all the stuff we broke while out at sea. Before we fix things though, we celebrate. It's important because passage is often not easy and its the celebration that we always look forward to when things are tough out at sea. We reflect on our journey and bask in the accomplishment of having made it before moving on to 'regular life'. Clearing in and dealing with immigration is often done in conjunction with celebration. In this case it actually took three days to get cleared in because we arrived on a holiday. Even though we couldn't leave the boat initially, we were allowed to hang out in the beautiful marina property for most of that time so it worked out just fine. Once that was done we set off to explore because that is the next best part of arrival after celebrating - Feasting our eyes on new sights, encountering new sounds and smells, and riding the wave of excitement that comes with the novelty of being in a foreign country for the first time ever AND having arrived by sailboat. Isla Mujeres is full of energy and we thoroughly enjoy our first jaunt into town AND our first tacos - YUM! Finally we take a dip in the incredible clear turquoise water and explore the bright coral in a spot close to our dock.
