We created a new bowsprit. What could go wrong? Episode 48 #catamaranrefit

Our very first multi-day passage had a very unfortunate outcome...we lost out bowsprit. The genneker halyard ruptured and dropped the sail into the water while we were moving ~12 knots. While we were trying to get the sail back on deck, the forces were just too great and the bowsprit broke right off the crossbeam. In the spirit of the $6,000,000 man, we designed and built a new one...bigger and better than it was before. The process was long and involved several people, but the result is fantastic.
