Vendée Arctique - Who to watch and why

The 3,500 mile race from Les Sables d'Olonne on the west coast of France that loops Iceland before returning back to Britanny takes the entire fleet into unfamiliar territory. Heading into the Arctic Circle the fleet goes further north than they go south in the Vendée Globe. Rather than trying to out run weather systems as they do in the Southern Ocean, this time they will be heading straight into them. So with 25 entries, including some of the world's top solo sailors, it's shaping up to be a fascinating race. Matt Sheahan walks the dockside and considers the runners and riders.
