Up the river without a depth sounder! Sailing Bohemia Ep. 59

We really loved our time exploring the picturesque bay of Ensenada de Matanchen, with it's long palapa-lined golden beaches and the world's longest surf break! Soon though, it was time to tie up in the nearby town of San Blas, Nayarit for a rare week of marina time. The day finally arrived and all that stood between us and the First Mate's dreams of sipping margaritas by the pool while the washing machines gently hummed their way through his chores... was a huge great river and a sand bar to cross! Oh, and our depth sounder was up to its old tricks again... this should be interesting!
