'Sometimes it sounds like you are living in a a Disney movie' was our friend's response when we described this passage. We went into this crossing the most stressed and nervous we have ever been due to the threat of a run in with the orcas, and ended up having the best time! We tried to capture as much of the journey as we could, but it's honestly a bit difficult with our low-tech gear. Some moments we didn't get on camera included a turtle waving goodbye as we sailed off the African coast, and midnight dolphin play only visible by their silhouette in the moonlight and their bioluminescence fin-prints in the water. Quick passage stats: - Distance: 630 NM - Duration: 5 days, 7 hours - Avg. speed: 4,9 kts - Fastest split: 168 NM (first 24 hours) - Conditions: mainly downwind, 10-12 kts except for the first 24 hours with 20 -27 kts Thanks for watching!
