The quiet of night is relaxing on the Danube River.

All is quiet on the river. It's a little past midnight and I'm on the top deck of the AMA Verde. The church pictured here is the Durnstein Abbey. The history of the Abbey, begins in 1372, with the consecration of a Mary chapel paid for by Elisabeth von Kuenring. In 1410 Augustinian Canons were brought to Dürnstein from Wittgua in Bohemia, and the expanded building complex was established as a monastery.
