THE BEST And Simplest Inboard Autopilot

I did a ton of research to find the most reliable but simplest autopilot that I could for our hydraulic steering system on our 1973 trawler. Raymarine and Garmin were nice but too much money for features we did not need. We wanted something that we could simply set a compass heading and the pilot would keep the boat on that heading. Two brands looked good. Comnav and Si-Tex. We went with Si-Tex SP-70 and could not be happier. This pilot steers the boat straighter than we can by hand especially in swell.
