Swimming with over 25 Manta Rays in Anaho Bay - French Polynesia

We set sail... or rather we motor with a bit of sailing thrown in ... from the south of Nuku Hiva to the North and drop anchor in Anaho Bay. It doesn't take long before we are surrounded by Manta Rays. Using the drone footage we count over 25 just around Mokara so we decide this is an opportunity not to be missed and we dive in through the thick plankton and find ourselves surrounded by these incredible creatures. Watch to the very end to see all the footage. Anaho is a fantastic sheltered anchorage in the north and is a great place to seek shelter when a southerly wind is blowing into Taiohae creating an uncomfortable swell. There are quite a few walks to do in Anaho Bay too, so find out where these are in advance. They are worth doing. We met a few locals who were very friendly but mostly, the house were all locked up.
