Struggling with a grumpy wind and sailing after my capsize and turtling aftermath!

Confidence was a little bashed but these are the days where you have to grit your teeth and move past any unpleasent learning experiences! A few weeks off didn't help either with a holiday and injury to my arm so it was going to be a challenging morning. It's a nice sailing day, a little bit overcast but still warm and windy so the plan today was to stay close to home and do some circuits until confidence comes back. Before we set off I show you some anti-capsizing equipment I have installed on the boat to help me if we have another turtling event. Before setting off down the lake for the day my Dagger board elastic snapped. To be honest it had been on its last legs for a few weeks now but fortunately I had a spare bungee in the car. That all being sorted we "run" wing-on-wing down the lake taking advantage of the Northerly wind today and have lunch on the campsite beach. The wind seemingly getting up a bit we start beating home but finding the wind was a real challenge today. One minute you;re sailing along and the next the sails are flapping and you're stood still. the wind is definitely changing direction all the time today and the North Easterly/Westerly winds are certainly living up to their "grumpy" name today. We end the day being joined by one of the club Laser Bahia's and practising a 270 degree Tack. A nice day, perfect for getting the confidence back. 00:00 Welcome after a few weeks away! 00:53 Conditions and weather 01:27 Fixing one of my dinghy cover clips 01:47 Checking the boat over after the turtling 02:59 Capsize equipment I have installed 05:24 Sailing some circuits 08:09 Nice easy Gybe 11:13 Replacing the dagger board elastic 13:25 Wing-on-wing down the lake for a change 15:26 Lunch on Bala camping beach 16:18 Beating home in an increasing wind 19:44 Trying to find the wind direction 22:10 We're joined by a club Laser Bahia Dinghy 25:41 A 270 Tack 27:12 back home
