Straight through the thunderstorm. Nightmare between Greece and Italy

You could say we were scared shitless. On our first long passage from Greece to Italy, which takes about two days and nights, we got caught in a huge thunderstorm area that caused some destruction in Italy. We had postponed our departure by one day to avoid thunderstorms as much as possible. I had checked three weather models beforehand - not enough, as I now know.
