To find out more about LANIAKEA: https://www.northropandjohnson.com/yachts-for-sale/laniakea-87-latitude-yachts In this vlog, David compares the Sunreef Ultima 88, JFA Long Island 86 Power and Latitude Yachts LANIAKEA .Three impressive motor cats with very different approaches to construction, performance, technology and cruising. The comparison begins with LANIAKEA, a 26.7-metre carbon-fibre power catamaran built by Latitude Yachts in Riga, Latvia. Described as the world's first true sports catamaran, she is the lightest, fastest and shallowest-draft yacht of the three. Her remarkable 0.6-metre / 2-foot draft, 26-knot top speed and ability to operate silently for up to six hours make her a very different proposition from a conventional motor catamaran. Next is the Sunreef Ultima 88, the most established platform in the comparison. She combines hybrid propulsion, custom-engineered battery packs and Sunreef's Solar Skin system, with a focus on reducing fumes, vibration and environmental impact. She accommodates 10 guests in five cabins and reaches a top speed of 20 knots. The JFA Long Island 86 Power takes another direction. With an aluminium hull, composite deck and a design focused on serious long-distance cruising, she brings JFA's oceangoing experience into the motor catamaran market. She accommodates eight guests in four cabins and has a top speed of 15 knots. So which philosophy makes the most sense? The JFA Long Island 86 Power is the serious long-range choice. The Sunreef Ultima 88 offers the most established platform and strong eco credentials. And LANIAKEA is the lightest, fastest, shallowest and most distinctive , as well as the most accessible of the three at €7.5 million. Which one would you choose? Let us know in the comments.
