Sailing Week Ambassadors 2017

The Antigua Sailing Week organising committee is proud to announce that it has selected new brand ambassadors to boost local support for the 50th edition. The new initiative engages sailing athletes, industry professionals and Antigua Sailing Week enthusiasts to play a key role in promoting this remarkable event. Ezra Christopher, the press and marketing coordinator, said: “The programme aims to reignite Antiguans and Barbudans’ passion for the event and to inform the public of its importance to the country.” Organisers chose five individuals to serve as Sailing Week Ambassadors. Those named as ambassadors are: Arlene Lake, an administrator and also volunteer on Antigua Sailing Week’s race management team; Sean MacMillan, a member of the on-the-water support team; Asher Otto, a celebrated performer; Alan Scholl, a project manager and photographer; and Franklyn Braithwaite, a director of Antigua Sailing Week and owner of A&F Sails. Braithwaite was also an Olympic sailor. Ambassadors will help generate interest in the nation’s longest running sailing event; inform key stakeholders about Sailing Week’s affiliated activities; and promote its outreach efforts to the media, organizations and businesses.
