Sailing to Santa Barbara Island - part 1 as we tour 3 Channel Islands in 48 hours (May 2024)

Andy from @sailingsole and friends Mike & Rick join as crew as we embark on an epic sailing weekend which covers anchorages at three of the Channel Islands. In this episode, we sail from San Pedro, CA to Santa Barbara Island. We have an amazing fin whale sighting as we make our late afternoon / evening passage. We arrive at the island and drop anchor in the dark around 1030pm, with plans for a brief rest layover before departing in the middle of the night for Santa Cruz Island. The trip to Santa Cruz Island will be covered in our next episode.
