In this episode, the crew leave Port Canaveral for a 3 night sail around Cape Hatteras and into the Chesapeake Bay. Lisa loses two battles (fear and bugs), and Erik performs his first MacGyver “hat trick” involving a sail fail with the Code Zero, a burnt out connection for the Spot trace, and a broken topping lift. Despite these shenanigans at sea, the crossing around Cape Hatteras was uneventful - primarily because the Captain chose a perfect weather window for the crossing, celebrated with cigars, cocktails, and huge smiles.
