Sailing Saoirse - We got our NEW TENDER AND MOTOR! 🚤 ( EP 29 )

WHAT AN EVENTFUL WEEK! - we got our long awaited new tender and outboard motor and Father’s Day rolled around. We celebrated Robins first Fathers Day on the water and how else would we Zastron’s do that - but with a spectacular cake from Teagan. We took the day a little easier than usual although some work was done too. With regards to our tender We had been torn - budget constraints had us thinking we needed to save a bit and try to find a good second hand tender and motor but after chatting to a lot of people and thinking long and hard - we decided to bite the bullet and go with new. A tender on a boat really equates to having a reliable vehicle to land lubbers. The tender becomes your car to get to and from land when you plan on living at anchor the way we do. So we decided to splurge and Mark Mudley and his ‘Watercraft’ ducks came very highly recommended. We visited his factory, were given a tour and a great price for a basic 3.1m rubber duck. What we got in the end was so much more than we could ever have hoped for. Mark went all out - adding so many special touches for us from scuff pads, lovely seat on the anchor hatch, larger pontoons than initially ordered, scuppers on the rear, extra pressure valves and more - all at no extra charge - yet again we have been truly blessed. We are so chuffed with her and now need to come up with a nice name for her. Chris also managed to organize a great discount on our brand new Suzuki 15hP 2 stroke motor - all in all she’s a really beautiful addition to Saiorse! To top the day off we have another dinghy themed cake and then a sunset trip out into the lagoon for a champagne toast to Mark. We have another storm come through that resulted in huge surge within the marina and a broken dock. These storms are now a weekly occurrence and we are expecting a couple more in the coming week. As time draws closer to leave Mykonos - get our living at anchor and testing our systems - we are ramping up the work schedule again.
