A huge thank you to those who help keep our boat afloat by supporting our creative process via Patreon. Feast your eyes on Lake Karapiro, mecca of all things rowing in New Zealand. Finn hit the ground running when we returned from Fiji. Now he gets to join with his St Johns College buddies and see whether one month of training really is all you need to get up to speed in a scull. Spoiler alert: He does just fine. Which begs the question, how well could he do if he did some work? Rob discovers his three weeks of training have not left him in the same boat as Finn. (Do you see what I did there?) He struggles with the pace in the father and son race. In the single scull, the first 250 metres are a throw back to his former glory as an Olympic rower. Unfortunately, rowing races are 2000 metres. Rob discreetly retires from the heat. Hoping it’s not too late to trade in his rowing suit for a pipe and slippers. It’s all in a day’s work for the oarsome Hamill boys.
